CONTEXT
Making Waves aims to establish contacts and develop ideas for future cooperation of Baltic Sea Region countries within the EU Europe for Citizens Programme. Following the success of the previous events (2013 Stockholm, 2014 Tallinn and 2015 Vilnius) in creating international partnerships, Baltic Sea region’s contact making seminar “Making Waves” takes place for the fourth time, bringing together around 50 participants representing civil society organizations and public authorities from six countries: Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Latvia, Lithuania and Sweden. The aim is to create partnership possibilities between participating organisations and provide in depth knowledge about Europe for Citizens Programme.PURPOSE
In order to support and develop new project partnerships, the participants of the seminar will get a better understanding of Europe for Citizens Programme’s funding opportunities and priorities, application process and criteria. They will also be participating in a workshop with analyses examples of good applications and in workshops of preparing applications considering their own ideas of possible projects while going through all phases of the project span.Who can participate?
The seminar is targeted to civil society organizations and public authorities from Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Latvia, Lithuania and Sweden who are interested in developing international cooperation with funding from the Europe for Citizens Programme, including towns, municipalities and regional authorities, town twinning associations and networks, non-profit organizations and CSOs, survivor’s associations, cultural/youth/educational/research organisations. One participant per organization is expected to attend.The working language of the seminar is English.

Venue
Hotel Gustavelund in Järvenpää is located just 15 minutes from Helsinki-Vantaa Airport, 30 minutes from downtown Helsinki and 10 minutes from Kerava railway station or Järvenpää. Transportation from Helsinki and the Helsinki-Vantaa airport will be provided for the participants.
